Textile

Friday, May 06, 2005

Whilst trying out Backpack I got re-introduced to the Textile markup. I ended up really liking it. So now I’m writing up this entry using Textile, instead of XHTML. There is an EE plugin for it.

Why do I like it?

  • It’s so easy to make lists!
    • As well as nested lists!
    • And I don’t have to worry about wrapping each line with a <li> tag!
  • You don’t have to worry about escaping HTML in pre tags because Textile automatically does that.

The only thing I don’t like is that when you specify images, you can’t specify its width or the height. But I think if I do want to include an image in my post, I’ll just revert back to HTML.
