Shutdown, or Standby?

This is a poll post!
If you own your own computer, do you shut it down whenever you’re asleep or you’re not using it? I shut mine down every night, because the fan on my laptop is really noisy. Since my laptop is in my bedroom, I can’t sleep if I leave the computer on. Lately though, I’ve only put it on standby so it doesn’t take as long to start up the next day.

I shut mine down because I don’t want to risk burning out the fan because I have luck like that.

Hmm, well, I always put my laptop in standby by folding it over when I’m not using it. I like being able to pull it out and bring it up without waiting for it to boot.
Our PC is kept on all the time. It’s not in the bedroom, it’s pretty quiet anyway. We reboot it every once in a while, but during a good streak it could be up nonstop for two weeks at a time.
