Power Outage, Site Down

Thanks to the power outage in Los Angeles today my site was down for a couple of hours. I’m monitoring the site using SiteUptime and it started at 13:37:05 PST and ended at 20:37:14 PST. (But it does only check once an hour.) Luckily I checked my host’s status page which explained what was happening. Then I checked Technorati found lots of other people complaining about the same thing.
I have two sites hosted here, and it was strange because the other one came back several hours before this one did.
It’s not a big deal for me, of course. But it’s amazing how one guy can cut a utility cable and bring down most of a city’s power.

That must of been a big power outage for it to be out that long! I too have SiteUptime check mysite, I get all worried when I’m down for any reason x_x;;
The reason I’ve come over here today (well actually I’ve check out your site several times before, just finally got brave enough to comment) was to ask a question. I found your site through your community of the S2 layout you created for LiveJournal (such customization, I’m learning a lot about S2). I was wondering if it was ok to use the layout on other LJ clone sites… ooh…. you like Sims 2 also…?? Oh _;; sorry, got distracted. Yea eh, I was wondering if it was ok to use your transmogrified S2 layout outside of LJ? I’m so sorry if I’m being a bother. Thank you very much for reading this.

Melanie, yep, you can use it elsewhere. I did have some guy email me about using it on GreatestJournal, but he never got back to me on whether it worked or not. :p

Oh you are such a darling!! Thank you! I was going to use it for a community or two on GreatestJournal… but… I’m also a site admin over there _; so it would be ok to use it as a public layout for our users? I have it up on our admin community if you want to check it out http://www.greatestjournal.com/community/gj_admin/ the only problem I had was getting the tags box to show up (even when I enabled it in the s2 customization) I had to go into the layer itself and enable it.

Yay, I’m glad it works on GreatestJournal! Yep, you can use it as a public style if you like. Do let me know if you find any bugs. I have not worked on the style for a long time and I need to force myself to fix some things. Oh and thanks for letting me know about the tag box thing.
