Gmail URL Change

Tuesday, June 21, 2005

When I checked my gmail email address today, I noticed that my custom skin wasn’t working, and my greasemonkey scripts weren’t working either. The gmail url has changed from gmail.google.com to mail.google.com, which messed up the scripts. Luckily the two greasemonkey scripts I use (smart delete and persistent searches) posted updates. Now I have to fix my skin.

That’s why I kept getting error messages whenever I tried logging into my account with my Firefox extension. It wasn’t auto-detecting, so I checked for an update and that worked. I would have been nice if the people at Google told us they were changing their url.

I agree. Google has their own blog, so why didn’t they post something there?
