Poll: Turning the camera
Sunday, August 13, 2006
Let’s say you have a camera and you need to turn it to take a portrait shot. Which way do you turn the camera?
I turn the camera clockwise. My mom turns it anti-clockwise. I was downloading some recent photos we took from the digital camera when I noticed this.
It helped determine who took which picture!
Shutdown, or Standby?
Saturday, June 17, 2006
This is a poll post!
If you own your own computer, do you shut it down whenever you’re asleep or you’re not using it? I shut mine down every night, because the fan on my laptop is really noisy. Since my laptop is in my bedroom, I can’t sleep if I leave the computer on. Lately though, I’ve only put it on standby so it doesn’t take as long to start up the next day.
All the songs on an album
Tuesday, May 23, 2006
Let’s see if the polls work in this new version of EE, shall we? As usual, if you are reading this from an RSS reader, please visit the site to vote!
How many albums have you listened to where you like all of the songs on the album? You can include compilation albums if you like but not ones that you made up for yourself. For me, I’d say 11.
Birthday Memory
Tuesday, January 10, 2006
The poll question of the day is – how many people’s birthdays do you remember? (Other than your own.) My count is 16, and they’re about 60% relatives and 40% friends. I’m better at remembering the birth month of a person rather than the actual birth day.
Phone Number Memory
Wednesday, December 21, 2005
I updated the poll module to the newest version, 1.5. Let’s see if it works!
The poll question of the week month is: how many phone numbers do you have memorized? The total number for me is 17. A lot of those numbers are old numbers though.
Sibling Poll
Tuesday, November 22, 2005
I haven’t done a poll since September.
I do have a question now that I can ask, as it came up recently. Do any of you have brothers or sisters, and if you do, do you look alike?
My brother and I don’t look alike. You probably wouldn’t be able to tell that we’re related. He has long eyelashes, while mine are short. He can even eat a lot of food and still stay skinny, while I can’t. (I hate that!)
Audiobook Poll
Friday, September 16, 2005
Apple is offering a special iPod version that contains the 6 Harry Potter audiobooks, and has the Hogwarts logo on the back. I like the Harry Potter series, but I rarely listen to audiobooks and don’t particularly enjoy listening to them. I thought I might as well turn the topic of audiobooks into a poll question.
The last time I listened to one, it was an audiobook for The Tao of Pooh. I borrowed it from the library because the actual book wasn’t available. It wasn’t effective because I can’t remember much of what was in the book now. Another time I borrowed an audiobook which was about the environment and pesticides, and it was read by a well-known actress. The topic seemed interesting enough, but I didn’t finish that audiobook because I couldn’t stand the reader’s voice. Also, listening to another person’s voice is different from listening to the voice that’s inside my own head when I’m reading a book.
Other related questions (if you answer yes in the poll):
- What do you do while you’re listening to an audiobook? In the past I just sat and fidgeted, which was boring. I suppose if I listened to them while driving or exercising or eating it’d be less boring.
- What makes you decide to listen to an audiobook in the first place, instead of reading it?
- Do you only listen to certain types of books in the audio format?
- Do you find it faster to listen to an audio version of a book or reading a book?
Other People’s Archives
Friday, July 22, 2005
Time for another poll again. It’s a follow-up question to the last poll. Do you guys read the archives of other people’s blogs? My own answer to this question is no, unless there is something in those archives that I’m looking for. And sometimes when I read a blog, I will go back and look at the last 1-2 weeks of entries, but nothing before that.
Do You Read Your Archives
Tuesday, July 12, 2005
Hey, it’s a poll post! The last time I put up a poll was back in … May.
I already have a question for my next poll lined up.
The question this time is whether you go back over your archives (if you have a blog that is). I used to read my past entries, but now I don’t any more.
Poll: Marketing Tactics
Sunday, May 08, 2005
I’ve asked this poll question before. But, I’ll ask this again.
Television Spoilers
Saturday, April 30, 2005
This week’s poll is on spoilers. I used to read spoilers all the time. Now I don’t read them at all, because they do spoil the show. Of course I do find out about some by accident. I’ve learned the hard way that it’s good to avoid my LJ friends list/message boards if I don’t want to read any spoilers.
Shower Time
Friday, April 22, 2005
Another poll. I’ve put up another copy of the poll on my sidebar again, so that it’s easier for random visitors to notice it and complete it.
Email Usage
Thursday, April 14, 2005
New poll. I haven’t put the poll form in the RSS feed, because I’m not sure what will happen if you try and fill out the form within the RSS feed. So you will have to go to the entry to fill out the form.
Anyway, the question is, how much email space do you use? If you have more than one email account, just pick the one you use the most. Since Yahoo recently announced 1GB of storage to free users, and Gmail users already have 2GB (and higher), I’ve been wondering whether that much space is really needed. I use Gmail, and I only have about 11 MB in that account. I don’t think I could get up to 1GB in a long, long, time.
My dad only has about a maximum of 10 emails in his inbox at any one time. He deletes most of his mail after he reads it. When I told him about Gmail, he first wanted to know how many kilobytes were in a gigabyte, and then said there was no point in him getting a Gmail address because he didn’t need it. ![]()
Also, if you do use up a lot of space in your email account, what’s in there? Pictures, movies, powerpoint presentations, songs?
