pMachine version 2.4

Sunday, January 16, 2005

The good news is that pMachine 2.4 has been released. I’m not quite sure what’s new in the release yet, but it should incorporate more spam prevention features. Also good news is that pMachine Pro (the version that allows multiple blogs, mailing lists, a forum, multiple templates, and an event calendar) is now free for all to download. The bad news is that development for the product is being discontinued. You can read Rick’s open letter on the site.

There is a special discount for those pMachine Pro users who want to upgrade to EE as well.

Edit: The new features are outlined in the changelog.

More imports from older logs

I got the comment body in email notification hack working, yay! Which means that if you subscribe to email notification when a comment is added to a post, it’ll email you the body of the comment within the email.

Also, I imported a lot of old entries into this database. The entries were from a few years back, and they were in the MT export format already, so it was really easy. My last post id on this blog was 858, and now it’s already jumped to past 1000! The old entries are on a separate blog right now, I don’t know whether I’ll release them to the public just yet. smile I have to work on some kind of layout for them. Anyway, it’s nice to have them all in one place.

Function Customizer

Michel.be’s Function Customizer looks very powerful. I like the fact that it can work on multiple weblogs and/or categories. But the only thing I can think of using it for is for links to recent comments. For now, that is…
