Adopt a webring

Tuesday, July 27, 2004

A few months ago I whined about not being able to remove my site from abandoned webrings. Well today I got an email from someone who adopted (assumed ownership of) one of the webrings. I checked another abandoned webring and that one had been adopted too (at the beginning of July)! A lot of the broken links have been cleared out now, thank goodness. I’ve moved those webring links back to the index page now.

Oh yes. Would anyone who has a MT-powered weblog like to join the movable type webring? I joined it ages ago, and I’m not using MT anymore, but I can’t remove myself from the ring. It’s not accepting any new members, so I thought I could transfer my login over to someone else. upsidedown

MT 3

Thursday, May 13, 2004

The much awaited Movable Type 3.0 (Developer Edition) is out. Since it’s late in the afternoon and there’s a lot of discussions to this announcement already, I don’t really have much to add that someone else hasn’t said. Basically I don’t have any problems with them charging for their software and their services, but those prices look pretty steep. I’ll definitely try out their Free version (am going to register and download right after this). I’m not going to pay a license fee though because I won’t need MT for more than one author/3 weblogs anyway.
