Goodbye, Green Frog
Sunday, September 17, 2006

Tonight was the A Night of Favorites and Farewells for The WB television network. After 11 years, they are merging with the UPN to form the new network, the CW.
As a farewell, they aired the pilots of some of their most popular television shows – Felicity, Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Dawson’s Creek. It is somewhat sad, as I watched all of those shows when I was growing up and loved them.
Some other shows on the WB that I liked:
- Young Americans
- Popular
- Jack and Jill
- Roswell
- Three (this didn’t last long, but I really enjoyed it!)
Tonight I re-watched the pilot episode of Dawson’s Creek that they aired. Even though I have the series on DVD, I wanted to watch the original episode, with the original music. (sniff sniff) Then I did a search on YouTube, and found the video for a promotion the WB did a few years ago.
Goodbye WB. And goodbye to the green frog, whom I will always think of as the network’s mascot even though he was fired a while ago.
All the Garfield comics I could ever want
Friday, July 21, 2006
I downloaded this program called iStrip the other day. iStrip downloads a list of selected comic strips from the web and caches them on your computer. I set it to get some of my favourite comic strips – Calvin and Hobbes, Get Fuzzy, and so on. You can set the preferences so that it’ll download all available images, so if you don’t open up the app each day to get a new comic, you won’t miss out on the previous comics.
Well, iStrip managed to download what looks like all of the Garfield comics, starting from 1978. That is 10,260 images, and it’s over 300MB in total. Cool eh? Of course you can view the same comics via the website, but it’s much faster if you view can view it offline.
More YouTube

After watching Dawson’s Creek, I’ve now been watching clips from Whose Line is it Anyway? on YouTube. That was one hilarious show.
Dawson’s Creek on YouTube
Monday, March 13, 2006
I’ve been spending this Monday evening watching fan videos for Dawson’s Creek on YouTube. If you do a search for Dawson’s Creek on the site, you’ll find a lot. I love them, especially the Pacey and Joey ones! (sniffles)
Right now I’m watching clips from The Kids of Dawson’s Creek by E! True Hollywood Story. They focused on the main 4 actors (James Van der Beek, Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson and Michelle Williams). I didn’t like how they referred to Pacey as being Dawson’s sidekick. He was definitely more than that!
Years after this show has been finished, I’m still a HUGE fan. ![]()
Dawson’s Creek Season 6 on DVD
Saturday, January 28, 2006
According to TVshowsonDVD.com, the Dawson’s Creek Season 6 DVD set is being released on April 4th. It will include a scrapbook with triva and photos. I’ll be really glad to get my hands on this! ![]()
Return of Lost
Thursday, January 12, 2006
I was going to write a post at around 7:55pm, but then I procrastinated, and then it was time for Lost, and I had to drop everything I was doing and go watch the show. It’s been a month and a half since the last new episode.
And that, sadly, was pretty much all I was going to write. Before the show, I was going to say “Yay! It’s back finally!” And now after the show, the message has changed to “Yay! I just got to see a new episode!”
The Alias cast makes me happy
Thursday, December 08, 2005
On Monday night, if you were at my house, you would have heard a noise that sounded like “EEEEEEEEEEE” interspersed with lots of giggling. And if you were again at my house last night, you would have heard the same thing.
There were several former Alias cast members on television this week. On Monday a new episode of Kitchen Confidential aired. It starred Bradley Cooper (who played Will Tippin on Alias) and there was a guest appearance by Michael Vartan (Michael Vartan). Then yesterday there was a new episode of Alias, and David Anders (Julian Sark) was back on the show. I just adore the three of them, and it was awesome to see them all on TV again, even though they appeared in different shows.
Now if only Greg Grunberg (Eric Weiss) were to show up somewhere this week, it would make me even happier. ![]()
Yay for Invasion
Sunday, October 23, 2005
The television show Invasion from ABC has been picked up for the entire season.
I don’t think the show is all that great, but I still watch it for one reason: Eddie Cibrian.

He’s so gorgeous! Look at those dimples!
And speaking of television and gorgeous people. There’s pictures on ONTD of another gorgeous person from the show Alias. Warning – it’s a spoiler, so don’t click on the link if you don’t want to know anything. If you do click on it, check out the video clip too.
Stop moving Alias around!
Thursday, September 29, 2005
The new season of Alias premieres on Thursday at 8pm. At the same time, Survivor and Joey are on. It’s a dilemma! I can’t watch all three at the same time. I can usually catch a repeat at 11pm when they air on the west coast, but that still means I can only watch 2 out of the 3 shows. It probably means I’ll have to skip out on Joey.
They should have left Alias at 9pm and Lost at 8pm on Wednesdays, like last season.
The Half-Blooded Prince
Friday, July 22, 2005
This post contains no spoilers.
Earlier this morning I finished reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blooded Prince. I must have been lying on my bed reading for hours, coz when I went to sleep finally it was light outside. And it took me a while to fall asleep, I was thinking of what happened in the book.
The book was very good. I wanted to read it slowly, like a chapter a day, because the next book probably won’t be out for two whole years. Didn’t end up doing that though.
I suppose it’s a good thing I finished reading the book already. I can now stop trying to ignore places/blogs/forums which might discuss the book. There are sooo many comments I have to make about it!
I used to love Wednesday nights
Thursday, June 02, 2005
I always looked forward to Wednesday nights, because I got to watch 2 of my favourite shows one after the other – Lost and Alias. Now that the TV season is over though, I have nothing to watch.
But – now I do get to look forward to re-watching Dawson’s Creek episodes, since I bought the Season 5 DVD over the weekend. ![]()
Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith
Wednesday, May 25, 2005
I saw Star Wars – Revenge of the Sith last night. It was awesome, cheesy dialogue and all. A great ending to the prequels. Couldn’t help wishing for Anakin to not cross over to the dark side, because I felt so sorry for him. And I loved Yoda, he’s so athletic for a little green guy! ![]()
Dawson’s Creek Season 5
Monday, May 02, 2005
The Dawson’s Creek Season Five DVD is coming out tomorrow! I’ll probably buy it, even though this is the season I dislike the most out of the six.
2004’s Sexiest Man Alive
Thursday, November 18, 2004
Jude Law has been named The Sexiest Man Alive for 2004 by People Magazine. I can agree with that, I love this guy. ;)
Hmmm, speaking of sexy men, I wonder what’s going on with Joshua Jackson.
Separation of Life and Television
Monday, October 11, 2004
I read a post on LJ linking to a band called Private Idea, and they’ve written a song called “Separation of Life and Television”. It’s a song written about Pacey and Joey, from Dawson’s Creek! That is so cool. There’s been tons of fanfic, fanart, etc. written about Pacey and Joey, and now there’s fan music!
You can listen to the song on the website or download it as an mp3.
