Opera is giving away free registrations
Tuesday, August 30, 2005
Opera is celebrating their 10th anniversary by giving away free registrations for their web browser. The deal is only for today. It’s so strange to think that Opera has been around for 10 years – wasn’t it earlier this year that Yahoo celebrated their own 10 years of existence? I didn’t think Opera had been around for as long as 10 years.
I wrote my impressions of Opera a few months ago, but hadn’t really used the browser much after that. I’m glad that Gmail works with that browser now!
A List Apart Redesign
Wednesday, August 24, 2005
I saw several sites mention the new A List Apart redesign. But, whenever I went to visit the site, I could only see the old one. So I was completely confused, until I read this post, which has a link to a temporary URL. It all makes sense now. And the new site looks great! ![]()
A List Apart is a useful resource with articles on web design.

One sentence at a time
Friday, August 19, 2005
- I love not having to worry about running out of disk space on my hosting account.
- Joshua Jackson is sooo unbelievably hot.

- Jackfruit chips are yummy.
- Today I found out that you can use Cpanel’s file manager to extract zip files (something that would have saved me a lot of time had I known about it before!).
- I’m stuck on level 20 of stackopolis.
- I got entry preview to work with inline editing – Yay!
All of the above sentences were too short for me to put in their own post, so I just put them all into one.

Searching for Non-Labelled Email
Saturday, August 13, 2005
I cleaned up my gmail inbox today. There’s 463 emails in the Trash, mostly comment notifications and mailing lists. Despite what Gmail says about never having to delete an email, there are some emails you just really don’t want to clutter up in your mailbox.
Here’s a tip I learned. While organizing all of my emails, I wanted to search for all emails that do not have a label assigned to it. Unfortunately there’s no easy way to do that. To find all non-labelled emails, you have to list all of your labels and look for emails that do not have these labels. For example, if you have three labels Friends, Work, and Backup, you have to type in this search term: -label:Friends -label:Work -label:Backup. If you have many labels like I do, it takes a while to type. However, you can store the search term as a persistent search, using greasemonkey and a user script. And voila! You can search for all non-labelled email in just one click. ![]()
