Television Spoilers

Spoilers. Do you read them?
Yes
No
Only if it's by accident

This week’s poll is on spoilers. I used to read spoilers all the time. Now I don’t read them at all, because they do spoil the show. Of course I do find out about some by accident.  I’ve learned the hard way that it’s good to avoid my LJ friends list/message boards if I don’t want to read any spoilers. smile

Looks Too Good To Eat

Saturday, April 30, 2005

From the Flickr Blog - here are some photos of some yummy looking cakes. I looove the Totoro ones. I don’t use Flickr, but it really is fun to browse through all of the photos. *drools*

Ajax. Keywords. EE. Very cool.

Thursday, April 28, 2005

Edit: Sigh… Either people were too polite to point it out, or they didn’t read the article yet, and I hope it’s the latter, but I must have reset the keywords page to its old content. I’ve updated it now. *feels really embarrassed*

There’s been lots of discussion about Ajax (asynchronous javascript + html) recently. I didn’t pay any attention to it, because I didn’t think I’d be able to use it (it involves javascript, and I don’t understand javascript). But I just played around with it, and wow, it’s so cool! smile

Yesterday, when I was browsing the pMachine front page, I found a link on Ajax at Dutchcelt’s weblog. He has this mini-calendar which uses Ajax to go backwards and forwards between the different months. It looked pretty easy to get it running. I didn’t want to want to do the same thing with my mini-calendar though, because I don’t click on my mini-calendar that often. So my next thought was to try something with the keywords page for my links blog. You should go there and start clicking on stuff. silly And then come back and finish reading this article, because I’m going to explain what I did.

I’m getting trackback spam on my old unconscious muttering posts, it’s probably because I send a trackback over to the site every time I do this meme. It’s censor annoying. Even if it’s only one spam every few days, it’s still annoying.

Shower Time

Friday, April 22, 2005

What time of day do you normally take a shower?
In the mornings
In the afternoon
In the evening
Whenever you feel like you need to

Another poll. I’ve put up another copy of the poll on my sidebar again, so that it’s easier for random visitors to notice it and complete it.

LJ Style Contest

Friday, April 22, 2005

If you have a LiveJournal, and you haven’t voted yet, go vote in their 2nd Ever Style Contest. Voting ends today, Friday. I’m mentioning it here because I submitted a style to the contest. cool

Now you can write longer comments

Friday, April 22, 2005

I added in some code to my comments pages that will increase/decrease the size of the textarea in the comments form. I first saw it over at Beccary and I thought it was neat. This particular script doesn’t work in IE, or Safari, but it works in Firefox, and that’s good enough for me at the moment. grin

iTunes Free Download

Wednesday, April 20, 2005

I found out today that the Canadian iTunes Music Store now offers a free download of the week. It looks like they introduced this in early April - the only reference I can find to it is this. The song for this week is called “Sway” by a Swedish band, The Perishers. I’ve listened to it several times and I really like the song. I feel like I’ve heard it in a movie, or a TV show, but I can’t remember where.

I Will Snap At You

Tuesday, April 19, 2005

I’m in a very whiny mood today.

- The party shuffle on iTunes doesn’t work
- ConQuery doesn’t work
- I keep on running into this problem when I use the overflow CSS property on FF
- Realized I can’t search other people’s del.icio.us bookmarks (and other people can’t search mine)
- Someone is hotlinking and said they would stop but they haven’t
- The phone won’t stop ringing
