New pet peeve - people who leave less than half a scoop of ice cream in a tub. I just finished up the ice cream and it’s not enough! I still want some more.

I’d love a talking toonies handsfree teddy bear, if I had a cellphone to go with it. :p You put your cellphone into the bear’s lap, and when you answer a phone call the teddy bear acts as a speaker - and it moves according to the sound. Like the article said, how cuuuuuuttte!

A few months ago I whined about not being able to remove my site from abandoned webrings. Well today I got an email from someone who adopted (assumed ownership of) one of the webrings. I checked another abandoned webring and that one had been adopted too (at the beginning of July)! A lot of the broken links have been cleared out now, thank goodness. I’ve moved those webring links back to the index page now.
Oh yes. Would anyone who has a MT-powered weblog like to join the movable type webring? I joined it ages ago, and I’m not using MT anymore, but I can’t remove myself from the ring. It’s not accepting any new members, so I thought I could transfer my login over to someone else.

Today I went to the Niagara Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls. We signed up on a tour bus that would take us there and back for a day. It cost $20, but when you arrive you get a $15 coupon to be cashed in at the casino, so the net cost was only $5! I spent most of my time at the slot machines. At first I’d win some money, and then I’d become greedy and lose all of it plus some more. I wish there had been more time, though. We were supposed to leave Toronto at 9:30am, but the bus was late and it didn’t arrive until almost 10 (they had to pick up people in other locations first, we were at the last spot). We got to Niagara Falls at around 11:45, and we had to be back on the bus by 4:20, so we only had about 4 hours. Ah well.
They don’t allow you to take pictures inside the casino (I was yelled at when I tried), so I took some shots outside. Since LiveJournal is starting to offer photo hosting I uploaded the pics there. Go check out the gallery!

The original Friday Five meme has been gone for a long time now, but there’s a new friday five.
1. What are three things that scare you?
Noises I can’t identify, seeing people’s insides (although that disgusts me more than it scares me, really), and mosquitoes.
2. What are three things you want to do before you die?
Visit Africa, fall in love, and go swimming with a dolphin.
3. What are three of your favorite quotes or sayings?
Any quote from Calvin and Hobbes.
4. What are three things you don’t understand?
How boys work, why there is so much evil in the world, and tax accounting.
5. Finally, what are three survey themes you wish people would write surveys for?
I don’t know. I guess TV shows, summer food (as in refreshing drinks for hot days), and furniture.

Since I made my last post I went and checked the stats on my other domain. I use the other domain to store images and livejournal icons I make. I found several people hotlinking icons for use on message boards. Ugh. Hotlinking is disabled on that domain too, now. I should have been more explicit and said not to hotlink.

I turned on hotlinking. Someone on GreatestJournal decided they’d hotlink the images from one of my mood themes. I couldn’t contact him/her because the entire journal was friends only and there was no other contact info, so I moved the images and turned on hotlink protection. When I check my stats I get lots of 404 errors now. :yuck: If you’re the one who’s hotlinking (or remote loading), and you somehow happen to read this, stop it. All of your friends on your friends list are seeing the broken images too.

I’ve added reading queue to my media log. I placed them in the sidebar of that blog. I have several books I want to read, but I can’t read more than one book at a time.
The first book on is Digital Fortress. I finished it earlier today, but I still have to write up my thoughts on it, so it’s still in the queue. :p
