It’s over!

Friday, April 30, 2004

Woohoo! My last exam, done! I have so much to blog about. Or rather I’ve thought of a lot to blog about, and just today too. But I don’t have time to write it all down!

It’s 2:21am right now, and I’m sooo tired. I really want to take a nap, but I have piles and piles of clothes stacked on my bed, and there’s not enough space for me to push them aside and lie down. smile Yup, still in the midst of packing. My parents are coming tommorrow morning, instead.

I know the packing is going to take a long time. I like organizing my stuff, but the thing is I’m really slow at doing it, because I like to look at everything that I pack. For example, when I got to these stack of magazines under my bed, I ended up flipping through and reading some of the articles for 40 minutes before I moved on.

I think what I’m going to do is just pack all of the stuff that’s on my bed and then go to sleep. Now, time to turn of my computer. smile

What I’m up to this week

Thursday, April 29, 2004

Today I went to this Remote DNS Lookup tool to look up an IP address. Now when I first load the page, it’ll automatically load my own IP address for me. But, when I go to that page using Firefox, and then when I go to the same page using Internet Explorer, I get different IP addresses! I have no idea why that’s happening. Maybe it’s a router thing?

Tommorrow is my last exam. I’m somewhat prepared for it. There’s multiple choice questions, and my prof loves to put answers like this:
a) answer 1
b) answer 2
c)  answer 3
d) more than one of the above
e) none of the above

I absolutely despise this kind of multiple choice! Because I’ll think, for example, that a) is true, but I’m not sure if b) is true, so I don’t know whether or not the correct answer is a) or d). I went to the exam review session earlier today, and the prof definitely said a majority of the MC questions would be like this.

After my exam, my parents are driving in to help me move out of my apartment. Since my exam finishes at 5pm, they’re planning on arriving in the evening and staying overnight, and help me pack. I have a lot of packing to do, I haven’t even started yet. tongue

Accents Again

Tuesday, April 27, 2004

Earlier I made a post on accents. Well today I was thinking about what actors/actresses have sexy accents that I like. Here’s a list (it’s not comprehensive, so I might just add to it when I think of new people to add).

Actors
- Heath Ledger (Australian)
- Jude Law (British)
- James Marsters (as Spike. I realize that the accent is not real, but I still like it)
- Anthony Stewart Head (British)
- Rupert Everett (British)
- Hugh Jackman (Australian)
- Colin Firth (British)

Actresses
- Um, I’ll leave that for another time. I’m gonna go get something to eat now. smile

Travis - Why does it always rain on me?

Grad Composites

Picked up grad composites yesterday. Now who picks the photo that’s put in there? I look like such a dork.

Friday Five - Food

Friday, April 23, 2004

I’ve been sitting here in the computer lab for the past 50 minutes waiting for the scanner to be freed up. Some girl is using it to scan in her photos (she’s got like 3 rolls worth!) and all I need to scan is one page. *grrr* But, she won’t give it up, because she said she’d be done soon, but that was a long time ago.

So I thought I’d do an old Friday Five, the October 5/01 one.

1. What’s on top of your refrigerator?
Cereal, some ice cream cones that have probably gone stale (we haven’t bought ice cream to eat it with in a while!), and coasters.

2. What’s your favorite meal of the day?
Dinner. I rarely eat breakfast these days, and lunches are light.

3. Wash dishes by hand or in the dishwasher? What detergent do you use?
I wash dishes by hand. No gloves, even though my hands get all wrinkled afterwards. I don’t remember what brand of detergent I use, but it’s apple-scented.

4. How often do you eat out compared to eating in?
85% of the time, I eat in.

5. How do you plan to spend your weekend?
I don’t envision an exciting weekend ... it’s going to be studying, studying and more studying.

:fridayfive:

DC Season 3

Friday, April 23, 2004

Oooh I had some great news today! One of them is that the Dawson’s Creek Season 3 DVD is going to be released sometime this summer! It’s either going to be August 24 or June 29, but either way I’m so excited! Season 3 has to be my fav season out of the 6 seasons of the show. smile

More Firefox and Javascript problems

Wednesday, April 21, 2004

Javascript and Firefox are really driving me nuts. First it was this problem, but I’ve found more. If I click on a link that opens a popup window, the main window will also load the popup link. If I click the submit button on a form, and there’s a dialog box popping up confirming that I’m submitting, I can’t change my mind and cancel the submit; Firefox will just go ahead with it. What’s worse is the problem doesn’t happen all the time, even with the exact same link or the exact same form! And sometimes if I click on a link with my middle mouse button (with the intent to open the link in a new tab), it won’t work until I restart the browser. I don’t want to stop using Firefox and I don’t want to install Mozilla, but .... argh… what am I to do? The form submitting bug caused me to lose a post, so it’s not just something I can ignore. I’m just in a really grumpy mood right now (not just because of the javascript).

[sexy] accents

Wednesday, April 21, 2004

George Mason University has this site documenting all sorts of accents from people around the world. There have men and women all reading this sentence in English. I listened to some and you can definitely hear the accents. I learned the names of some languages I’d never heard of before, too, like Ewe. smile

Gaming Wallpapers

Tuesday, April 20, 2004

I LOVE all the wallpapers at desktop gaming! The owner of the site collected these wallpapers made from video games. I’m using one from Monkey Island right now, but I’m going to use StyleXP to rotate the wallpapers each time I log on.
