Jack Tulliver (played by Wesley Snipes) is an ex-military man who has turned into a thief. He and his girlfriend concoct an elaborate plan to steal from a security company. Their plans go awry when he finds a suitcase among the loot, and his team gets ambushed. Jack escapes with the suitcase, and soon finds himself in a lot of trouble, as there are people willing to kill to get it back.

Frank then went to visit an island in Fiji, where he met an extraordinary group of people, including a Spanish couple and an English writer. They talk about life, death, philosophy, and the meaning of the universe.

Willie Traynor is a young journalist who takes over the local paper in Clanton, Mississipi in 1970. The previous owners of the paper went bankrupt, and within a few years Willie managed to turn it around and increase its readership. Willie Traynor had to report on the brutal murder and rape of a young black widow. The perpetrator belonged to a dangerous and reclusive family in those parts. The book is mainly about the trial, Willie’s gradual acceptance into Clanton, the separation between blacks and whites at the time, and Willie’s friendly relationship with a black woman named Callie Ruffin.

This movie is about a woman named Telly (played by Julianne Moore) who lost her son in a plane crash. It’s been over a year and she’s still grieving. Her husband (played by Anthony Edwards) is concerned, and so is her therapist (Gary Sinise). Suddenly, all the mementos of Telly’s son go missing, the people around her claim that she never even had a son, and that all of her memories were manufactured. Luckily she finds help from Ash (Dominic West), who is the father of one of her son’s friends.

OK, I admit I started reading this book because I saw Johnny Depp’s face on the cover of it.
The book consists of four novellas, one of which is ‘Secret Window, Secret Garden’, the novella which the movie Secret Window is based upon. I haven’t seen the movie, and I wanted to read the book first.

This movie is based on short stories written by Isaac Asimov. It’s 2035, and robots have become a major part of human life, as personal assistants, the army, etc. The robots are made and controlled at the U.S. Robotics company. All of the robots are bound to three laws - not to harm humans, to obey human’s orders, and to protect its own existence, as long as in following one law they don’t violate the other two. The main character in the movie is Detective Del Spooner (Will Smith), who doesn’t like or trust robots. Spooner is called in to investigate the death of an aquaintance of his, a scientist at U.S. Robotics. Spooner thinks that the death was not a suicide, but intentionally done by one of the robots, Sonny. Sonny managed to break the three robot laws, and Spooner soon finds that other robots have done the same. He and Dr. Susan Calvin (Bridget Moynahan), another scientist at USR, have to find out who’s behind it.

The book is written by an American reporter. He wrote about his experiences while investigating the Bible Code. Using a computer program, he (and a mathematician) used the original Hebrew version of the Bible and identify patterns to extract words from it. They found names, dates, and descriptions of many famous people, as well as events that happened in the past and in the future.

This book is about a young college graduate, Andrea, who gets a job as junior fashion assistant to Miranda Priestly. Miranda is the editor of a well-known fashion magazine called Runway. Andrea took the job because after one year, she would be able to get Miranda’s recommendation to any writing position she wanted. However, Andrea finds her boss is very demanding, and the work she has to do takes its toll on her personal life.
