Edward Carnby (played by Christian Slater) is an orphan who spends his life investigating paranormal events. He’s on the hunt for some artifacts from an ancient civilization called the Abkhani. These artifacts are the key to the opening of a portal between dark and light. The movie is based on a computer game.

This was an awful movie. There wasn’t much of a plot. Shame on Christian Slater and Stephen Dorff for even considering starring in it. I don’t even want to comment on Tara Reid. At the beginning of the movie they show some scrolling text which takes forever for you to get through, much less understand. But if you read it thoroughly, it tells you exactly how the movie is going to end. I was bored through most of the movie except for the parts when I started wondering how this got turned into a movie in the first place.

If there’s anything to be liked in the movie I suppose that the monsters looked good.
